Recently, the Unit 4 of Phase II Project of Yuanyanghu Power Plant under China Energy successfully passed a 168-hour full-load trial operation. Thus far, both of the plant’s two indirect air-cooled coal-fired high efficiency ultra-supercritical generating units with the largest unit capacity in the world, Unit 3 and Unit 4, have been put into operation, with a total installed capacity of 3,520 MW (2×660MW for Phase I and 2×1100MW for Phase II), making Yuanyanghu the largest power plant in northwest China.
Yuanyanghu Power Plant is located in Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Its Phase II Project is one of the supporting power points of the ±800 kV Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) transmission project between Ningxia and the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, as well as one of the first 1-million-kw indirect air-cooled high efficiency ultra-supercritical power stations in the world. Applying a number of independent innovative technologies such as “reliability-based oil-free ignition of large units,” “one-step dry slag removal,” “vacuum pump efficiency,” “adjacent furnace heating,” “adjacent machine heating” and “wall temperature early warning and rate alarm,” the unit leads the nation in multiple indicators.
Yuanyanghu Power Plant is noted for its well-preserved beautiful ecological environment and cutting-edge intelligent technology. It annually saves 220,000 cubic meters of water and has achieved zero discharge of waste water. The soot concentration is lower than 4mg/Nm? and the emission of sulfur dioxide is less than 15mg/Nm?, lower than the national ultra-low emission standard. Its generating units adopt APS one-key start/stop technology and high-power plasma oil-free ignition technology while abandoning liquid ammonia storage tank to ensure the entire plant is free from major hazard sources such as oil depot and ammonia area.
